Supervised Transfers (often referred to as Supervised Exchanges) provide a safe, neutral, and structured process for transferring a child between parents or caregivers when there are court-ordered restrictions, concerns regarding direct contact, or when families wish to minimize conflict during transitions. During a supervised transfer, the supervisor observes and documents the transfer and takes reasonable steps to minimize conflict.
No-contact transfers involve separate arrival and departure arrangements for each party to limit direct interaction and support compliance with any court-ordered restrictions. The supervisor facilitates the transition and documents the transfer while maintaining a safe and child-focused environment.
For families receiving Supervised Parenting Time services, supervised or no-contact transfers are provided at the beginning and end of each supervised visit. This creates a consistent process from arrival through departure, supporting safe, respectful transitions for all participants in service.
